But I feel the need to speak up now. Recently, when visiting his gravesite, his kids discovered an empty bottle of liquor left there. Today, there was once again another empty bottle of alcohol left at his graveside along with some other inappropriate items.

Such reminders are painful, especially for his children to see, who visit his graveside frequently every week. I understand that everyone grieves differently and honors the memory of a loved one in different ways, but I would like to request sensitivity and respect for his children around what items are left to honor him.

I'm living my most authentic life I've ever lived and some people don't like it if it's not what they know or are comfortable with, then to them it's wrong.

If you are in touch with anyone who was close to Shane and not sure if they might not fully grasp the gravity of his struggles, and the impact this had on his kids, please share this message.
