In the early s, he co-founded Netscape Communications with Jim Clark who foresaw the commercial possibilities of the web browser. The resulting product of the company was called Netscape Navigator in order to avoid legal complication with NCSA who claimed ownership of Mosaic. The company went public in and Marc became an overnight billionaire and celebrity with his face on the cover of Time magazine and other publications.
